The Asia Pacific Gynaecological Endoscopy Training Group (APGET) is an independent, non-profit and non-governmental organisation. It was established in 2016 by a group of committed gynaecologists from the Asia-Pacific region.
Our goal is to assist gynaecologists in enhancing the skills and knowledge required to perform gynaecological laparoscopy surgery, as well as promoting best practices for Laparoscopy surgery by operating gynaecological endoscopy training courses across the Asia Pacific region.
Our faculty trainers have endeavoured to develop and deliver comprehensive training approaches and modules in a way that maximizes trainee learning. Our training course is comprised of didactic lectures, hands-on skills practices, live surgery demonstration, and hands-on cadaveric and animal workshop.
Over the past seven years, APGET has successfully hosted a number of gynaecological endoscopy training workshops in Thailand, South Korea, China and Hong Kong. We have helped over 300 gynaecologists from 19 countries in the Asia Pacific Region to access these training opportunities and obtain the most current knowledge and skills by providing sponsorship to the selected trainees.
In recent years, we have also developed OR Nursing Workshop for operating theatre nurses to improve their understanding and knowledge of endoscopic equipment and new technologies, raise awareness of specificities of laparoscopic surgery, enhance skills and tactics in problem solving, and identify the role of the nurse within the medical staff in order to improve the knowledge, skill and safety of endoscopic surgery.
In addition to running training courses, we also work with local gynaecological societies, training centres and medical institutions to share research achievements and further professional training in gynaecological endoscopy.
Our vision is to expand our mission and training activities to other parts of the world and to provide training for more doctors and nurses from different countries in the latest advancements in gynaecologic procedures. We believe that by enhancing and improving their skills, efficiency, and safety in operating endoscopic surgery, more gynaecological patients around the world will benefit.
