    APGET 17th Gynecological Endoscopy Training Course

    The training course is specifically addressed for experienced gynecologic surgeons who would like to advance from basic laparoscopy to standard laparoscopy and for more experienced surgeons who would like to take one step further.  During the hands-on session, our faculties will give participants guidance and instruction. Upon conclusion of the course, participants should be able to: 

     

    • - Understand the pelvic and retroperitoneal anatomy under laparoscopy.
    • - Develop skills in pelvic and retroperitoneal dissection.
    • - Master the techniques in radical excision of deep infiltrating endometriosis.

    APGET 8th OR Nursing Webinar

    Nurses play a vital role in preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care. The APGET 8th OR Nursing Webinar will focus on the importance of the essential elements of preoperative and post-operative nursing care; thereby helping nurses raise the standard of patient care and improve the quality of care.

     

    The webinar will be held on 11 May from 9am to 12:15pm (HKT, UTC+8). We are honored to invite Dr. Linda Fung of Prince of Wales Hospital, Hong Kong, Dr. Charleen Cheung of Queen Mary Hospital Hong Kong, Ms. Wing Yi Cheng of Prince of Wales Hospital, and Ms. Man Ki Cheung of Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong to give the lectures and share their valuable insights. 

     

    From the surgeon's perspective, Dr Fung and Dr Cheung will explore how the important role of nurses in intraoperative and pre-/post- operative care for gynecological surgeries. Ms. Wing Yi will give a lecture on the pre/post-operative preparation for Hysteroscopic Surgery. Ms Man Ki will talk about the laparoscopic Setting and preparation for laparoscopic surgery.

    APGET 8th OR Nursing Workshop

    The APGET 8th OR Nursing Workshop will be held on 11th May 2024. The overarching theme of this workshop is “Back to Basics”, which aims to focus on the foundational elements of preoperative and post-operative nursing care, recognize the essence of nursing, and help participants raise the standard of patient care. The one-day workshop comprises didactic lectures and hands-on practices for laparoscopic surgery.

     

     Upon conclusion of the course, participants should be able to: 

    -Improve their understanding and knowledge of endoscopic equipment and new technologies;

    -Raise awareness of specificities of laparoscopic surgery;

    -Enhance skills and tactics in problem-solving;

    -Identify the role of the nurse within the medical staff to improve the knowledge, skill, and safety of endoscopic surgery. 

     

     Application deadline: 29 February 2024

    HKGES Grand Round 2

    The Hong Kong Gynaecological Endoscopy Society (HKGES) takes the lead and jointly organizes the second HKGES Grand Round with APGET. The Grand Round will be held online via Zoom webinar on Saturday, 27 January at 3 pm HKT.
