It was a worthwhile experience taking part in the 9th APGET Gynecologic Endoscopy training in South Korea last May 11-12,2019. Each of the Faculty has different innovations and technique to share. And us participants were given the opportunity to try all of these techniques and choose which one applies to our skills and practice. The whole staffs were very hospitable and helpful during our stay. The venue ( hotel and training center) was great! The food was amazing! Thank you so much for having us.
I was indeed very grateful to APGET for the opportunity to take part in their laparoscopic workshop which was held in Incheon, South Korea. It was an eye-opener. The course was very well organized and the trainers were very enthusiastic and dedicated. On day one, the lectures about laparoscopic suturing were concise but informative. I got to learn various laparoscopic suturing techniques and laparoscopic accesses. Moving on to the dry and animal lab…My trainers guided me with patience and even shared several tips and tricks which were very helpful. We were also given the opportunity to perform rigid and flexible hysteroscopy on various simulated pathologies. Thanks, APGET!
I would like take this opportunity to convey my highest gratitude to the organizing committee of APGET workshop. This is by far the best laparoscopic workshop that I have ever attended. Minimal invasive surgery has been proven as the superior operative approach in a wide variety of pathologies. I have been eager to equip myself with the adequate skills for the best clinical outcomes of the patients.
The 2day-workshop was well-planned with a balanced combination of lectures and hands-on experience, both in dry lab and animal lab. The lectures were brief but concise. The focus of the workshop, laparoscopic suturing and knot tying, was well conveyed and the honorable speakers are all the reputable experts in this field. The appropriate trainers to trainees ratio was kept for the maximum hands-on experience for all participants.
The dry lab and animal lab experience in Olympus Korea Medical Training & Education Center (KTEC) was exhilarating. The training center is in the ideal condition and is equipped with the cutting-edge technology instruments and professional staff.
Nevertheless, I only realized the great leap of my laparoscopic skills, especially in needle handling and intracorporeal suturing when I started back practicing with my own training box. The tips and tricks that I have learnt in the APGET workshop are so valuable and practical. I would like to encourage all junior ObGyn specialists, particularly those who are passionate in minimal invasive surgery to take part in the coming APGET workshop.
Thank you and APGET for everything during the training course. APGET is the one which can provide an opportunity for improving our laparoscopic surgical skill and use of modernized equipment. The most popular lecture was “ How to tie surgical knots” by Mr.Selva. After that lecture, the knot tieing skill was improved in all of us.
