Thank you for giving me the opportunity to attend this course. Although I have been to other laparoscopic courses locally before, this course has been my first laparoscopic course using cadaveric. Compared to animal workshop, this workshop provide real human situation. It has also given me the opportunity to practice on various new skills such as in-bag morcellation which is the trend now. The facilities were cutting edge using different technology such as 4K display, 3D images and using new method. This has tremendously boost my confidence to perform more complex laparoscopic surgery.
This course is a well organized and structured course which is very suitable for gynecological surgeons who wished to pursue laparoscopic skill in managing advanced gynecological conditions. The course covered the two main elements for advanced laparoscopic surgery in gynecology - both surgical technique and pelvic anatomy. The lectures provided by all the speakers were very structured and helpful. I have learned more about the laparoscopic technique, particularly concerning the suture technique. The cadaveric dissection was a precious experience to me and I was able to understand the anatomy in detail and the stepwise approach in performing a radical hysterectomy. I would highly recommend this course to those who wish to learn more about advanced laparoscopic surgery in gynecology.
I am very grateful for the valuable learning experience through attending the APGET 8th Gynaecological Endoscopy Surgery Training Course. The 2-day programme was well structured and intensive. The lectures were informative, up-to-date and relevant to practice. There were hands-on sessions on 3D laparoscopic suturing and contained tissue morcellation at the Olympus endoscope training centre and cadaver dissections at the Siriraj Hospital. Most importantly, there was a chance for close interactions with the skilful surgeons from different countries who gave clear explanation on identifying pelvic anatomy, shared with us generously practical tips in dissecting the vessels, nerves and lymph nodes and refined our techniques. This course has expanded my knowledge and strengthened my laparoscopic skills.
Due to its small group interactive nature, places to this course are limited. I would highly recommend this course to any Gynaecologist who wish to advance their laparoscopic skills and apply early for future APGET courses.
It was a great opportunity for me to participate in the APGET advanced laparoscopic course. The lectures were organised and informative. The speakers, who are the experienced and skillful laparoscopic surgeons, had shared many practical tips on laparoscopic hysterectomy, pelvic side wall dissection, and suturing with us. The skill training lab session was excellent, especially the contained morcellation which I had never encountered before. The most impressive part was the human cadaveric hands on dissection session. Cadaver models have been regarded as “the gold standard for technical skills training” as they most closely mimic the anatomy of live patients. It was my first experience with cadaveric surgery and this precious experience had benefited me in term of identification of pelvic anatomy, dissection of avascular spaces in the pelvis, pelvic lymph node dissection, and identification of the course of ureters. I would certainly recommend this course to those with special interest in gynaecological laparoscopy.
