The 11th APGET course is an excellent and comprehensive course for improving skills in laparoscopic procedures. It is a short time course but well organized in time and topic schedules. This course makes it easier to do suturing, more understanding of how to recognize complications and how to solve them, furthermore confident in laparoscopic surgery. Thank you so much for supporting us in this field, we enjoy the course. Thanks to all the APGET committee and board team. Thanks to the OLYMPUS team.
I am Dr.Maruf Siddiqui, an Infertility & IVF specialist from Bangladesh doing Fertility related Endoscopic surgery only. Unfortunately, I did not have any experience in laparoscopic knotting and suturing. I was confused whether they would select me cause I am not young anymore. Luckily they selected me and I had a tough time competing with other young laparoscopic surgeons for two days. The course was meticulously designed with great exposure to developing learning skills in dry and especially wet lab. All the faculty members were very friendly and keen to teach us answering our queries. Dr.Sun who was unfortunate enough to get me for the subsequent 2 days in his group, was so patient and was very much meticulous taking a lot of pain teaching me knotting and suturing. The course dinner was awesome and frankly, you have to pay nothing but the airfare. So I think its a great opportunity offered by APGET. I am ever grateful to them for providing me with the opportunities. The Olympus T tech is a great venue with outstanding facilities. I will encourage all the young endoscopic surgeons to apply for this course. I have no doubt in my mind that it will be beneficial to them. Wishing all the best for APGET
This two-day workshop is very well organized and achieved its objectives 100%. The program is designed in such a way that more time is spent on hands-on training. Pre and post evaluation of suturing skills gave us an opportunity to assess ourselves. All the faculty members were kind and patient with trainees and more importantly, we had individualized training and one to one feedback. Facilities including training centre, accommodation and refreshments were excellent. A special note of thanks to Ms. Chan for organizing and answering all of our questions immediately. It was one of the BEST laparoscopy trainings I have attended.
APGET 11th training course represents an amazing course with a great team doing a great job in helping us to make the first steps, or to improve in the field of laparoscopic surgery. The program is perfectly structured leading at the end of the course to a great level of confidence regarding control over the minimal access surgery.
The entire staffs were also awesome. The very thorough, well-structured program, best in the known world for sure. Essential for those who intend to improve laparoscopic surgical practice. Strenuous course but distinctly worthwhile would recommend it to anyone intending a career in laparoscopic surgery !!
I will definitely recommend this course to all my colleagues who want a smooth start and improve in laparoscopic surgery. I want to thank all members of the APGET Team and the medical staff that support you! Keep doing that good job and expect more participants from ASEAN countries in the future! Hope to see you again with the cadaveric course!
I am Dr Zar Ni Win from Myanmar. Fortunately, I had a great chance to attend the APGET 11th Gynaecological Endoscopy Surgery Training Course. It has been valuable for all doctors who are successful in application.
Since the APGET course is organized with a well experienced professional team, modernized surgical technique, cutting-edge technology as well as fully supported nurses, it has great potential in this arena to impart knowledge and hand down skills to gynaecologists in MIS. We had to learn how to use energy devices, perform contained morcellation and practice laparoscopic suturing with suturing models and live tissue. What’s more, the course involved didactic lectures regarding basic and advanced laparoscopy and pelvic anatomy as well.
We are allowed to stay in a hotel that has a stylish furnishing and breathtaking view. Besides, we enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere in the Olympus T-Tec building, mouth-watering cuisine, and training given by inspirational mentors. Initially, we found it difficult to suturing, but in the end, we had some confidence and motivation in it.
To conclude, within a short period, we learned a lot. Therefore, I would like to recommend the APGET course to those who are interested in key-hole-surgery. In fact, it was a great encounter for all participants.
At the end of November 2019, I was nominated to attend the APGET 11th Gynaecological Endoscopy Surgery Training Course, which held in Bangkok. The courses provided different seminar and sharing session by experienced gynaecologists, which enhance and update my knowledge in gynaecology surgery, for example, suturing skills. There are seminars, which especially designed for OT nurses, to help us get more familiar with laparoscopic surgical procedures, the theatre requirements and settings for laparoscopic surgery, potential risk in OT theatres and how to assist the surgeons during operation. The seminar provides varies hands-on training such as manipulating 3D endoscope and assembly of laparoscopic instrument or energy devices.
Apart from seminars, there was a full day hands on session, which allowed us to practice what we learned from the seminars. I have the opportunities to assist the surgeons in hands-on cadaver dissection and handling of laparoscopic lens.
It was a valuable and inspiring learning experience and this workshop allows health care professions from different countries to exchange knowledge and learn from each other.
